Abstract

Study that analyzed to Mexico in the final stage of administration of President Felipe Calderón. A challenge and a balance of perspectives to address the issue of drug trafficking. Given this is the Merida Initiative, enacted by the United States, whose reason of being is cooperation with Mexico, to the fight against organized crime and brake to excessive drug trafficking from south to north of Latin America. Also, the main priority refers to the search for new policies and reforms in the Mexican justice system, along with Latin America that seeks to emphasize the process of exchange of information with the objective of reducing instability and conflict in the region, due to the violence generated by drug trafficking. Therefore, Mexico is shown open to making a joint regional agenda and cooperation policies in Latin America.
