Abstract

Russia has managed succesfully through the difficulties experienced during the late twentieth century. Russia is re-emerging with renewed power in the international system. Moscow stands again as one of the main centers of power in a increasingly multipolar system. However, the price paid was high. Russia has become one of the states with the highest internal inequalities.
