Abstract
The postgraduate level training of professors and professionals who work in the educational field is one of the central elements in the process of improving the quality of education that Chile has proposed in the last period.
In this sense, postgraduate level training in Chile, available to teachers, becomes a central element to achieve the much-desired educational quality. However, the dispersion of teachers in our country often prevents access to postgraduate programs for those teachers who live and / or work in isolated areas, far from the urban centers that concentrate the academic offer at the university level in general, and of the postgraduate level in particular.
That is why Distance Education, or e-learning, becomes relevant as an offer for teacher training at the postgraduate level, allowing many teachers to access programs that they are otherwise unable to develop.
For the development of the research, we worked with the open databases of the Center of Studies of the Ministry of Education of Chile regarding teachers in the country, and with the base of the Higher Education Information Service of the same Ministry for the offer of postgraduate the databases correspond to 2016 and 2017 respectively, in both cases the last available year.
In this way, the offer available to teachers in the country is characterized, highlighting the distance offer that allows those who cannot access face-to-face training in our country, allowing to have an updated record of the offer that will improve the educational quality through the improvement of the academic quality of teachers.
